Brett Scar is a Melbourne-based artist and landscaper who interprets skate spots as architectural forms. He examines these spaces not only for their design, planning, and construction, but also for their history and role within the skateboarding community. Through his work, Brett highlights how urban structures, often overlooked in everyday life, can become sites of creativity, expression, and movement.

An everyday object, created for aesthetics or daily use, is reimagined by skaters and portrayed in Brett’s work as an obstacle, a challenge, and a canvas for potential. By merging art, architecture, and skate culture, his practice explores the balance between functionality and play, permanence and impermanence, and the ways we inhabit and interact with our urban environments.

Brett’s work is a celebration of space, movement, and the subtle artistry found in the overlooked corners of the city, transforming ordinary architecture into extraordinary experiences for both skaters and viewers alike.
